There are no longer public military and police forces since the founding of Megacorp. There are now only large private military and police organizations that are owned by large companies, either in their own interest to protect their assets, or to sell their protection services to other people/ corporations. 

Calling these organizations in the event of a crime is an option for anybody, however the caller will always be billed for the service that the military/police provide.

If somebody is on file for not paying their last protection bill, the police will not respond to a call made by this individual. 

This results in most crime going unpunished unless it directly effects a reputable business, or somebody of a higher class. 


If a child or young adult enlists in a private military/police force, often they will receive a package that allows the enlister's direct family to free protection services from that company as long as the enlisted individual is alive.
