All raw food and natural resources in Novopangea are lab grown. Massive horizontal food farms can be found in the North Prefecture, along coastlines or further inland depending on the produce.

Lab grown fruits and vegetables are grown with artificial lights and the proper water supply on an automated timer. Often these buildings will have dozens of floors as well as a few high speed elevators in order to maximize space efficiency and have as much produce variety as possible. 


Meat farms are set up in a similar way with a few differences. 

Lab grown meat is very popular, while animals still exist in scarcity in Megacity, most meat farms opt for growing "protein slabs" (often called meat walls by workers and civilians) due to the inconvenience of classic livestock farms from the old world.

These are massive oozing structures of living flesh and blood, grown inside of the factory buildings. Being a meat farmer is a high paying job due to the unexplained psychological damage the workers tend to develop. Often showing signs of schizophrenia or dementia at early ages. Rumors are that the protein slabs emit screams and groans but this is often dispelled by meat farming companies as "fearmongering".

Despite this, meat farms tend to have great success due to the new ability to be able to combine types of meat either in favor of cost effectiveness or in order to create new flavors and textures.


Almost none of this food tastes as it did in the old world, some better but more artificial, while some is much more bland.
